LEND A HAND
The needs are so many in Haiti that no one organization, no matter how big, can address them all.
Haiti Hope House is focused on the Education of the children and the Training of the young adults because we firmly believe that the future of the country is inescapably tied to their future. Sixty percent (60%) of Haiti's population is less than 35 years old. Educate and Train, this is what we set out to do. It is amazing what can grow from a few seeds of hope: literate children, skilled and responsible young adults, stronger families, striving communities. And it can all start with your donation. We are not a big NGO with funds coming in from all directions. We do not have big corporate sponsors. We are not sponsored by any big religious or governmental organizations. We do not have mega stars from the big screen, television, or sport, as our sponsors. All we have is our faith in a loving and omnipotent God. All we have is our firm belief that if our cause is right, and it is, then people will support it. All we have besides God is you. |
This is the big difference between Haiti Hope House and other organizations claiming to support education in Haiti. We do not come and pay one year of school for a child and leave.
We remain engaged, with the schools and with the parents, supporting the children for many years, being involved in their community, and their progress: academic and personal.
Frantzcesse and Nehemie are just a couple of examples of HHH's commitment to the children education. They have been in the Program for the longest amount of time.
We have many children who potentially may be in the Program for seven, eight, nine, and even ten years.
That is why your help is so important. We can only stay with them if you stay with us.

There are countless number of children who are 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and even 11 years old who have yet to go to school.
And the sad thing is that for about $125 a child can attend elementary school for an entire year.
It costs more for the third cycle and beyond. Depending on the school, it may range from $150 to $250, or more, a year.
This school year is coming to an end, and already we have close to 30 children on the waiting list for the 2023-2024 school year. And, having made the decision to support the successful 6AF graduates through the third cycle of fundamental education, this means that less number of children will be leaving to make place for new ones and thus the waiting list will not move down by much, while our budget will go up considerably.
Will you please sponsor a child?

As we continue to offer more skills training to the young people, and facing the logistical difficulties associated with holding these classes, the need for a Learning Center had become more and more urgent.
After 5 years of on again off again construction, depending on the availability of funds, the Learning Center is finally completed and it was inaugurated on September 2, 2018, and opened to the service of the community. The picture above offers an outside view of the Learning Center. |
![]() It is more than just a space to hold training classes. It is an educational oasis in this parched community. A place where learning can continue to happen outside of the classroom, a place where young and old can gather to read, to access the internet, or even to see a movie. A place where the people of the community can make copies of important documents without having to ride a motorcycle for half an hour to the nearest town, or simply stop by to charge their cell phones.
It has 8 rooms: two classrooms, a media/computer lab, a library (the first and only one in the community), a power room, a meeting room, and two offices. The picture above shows the two classrooms which have been made into one large room capable of accommodating a big crowd with the movable partition open as it is in the picture. |
![]() The picture immediately above shows the right side of the library and part of the rear shelves. The reading tables are not shown, and the books are not yet labeled and put on the shelves.
This picture shows the media center and computer lab, a partial view. There are three more laptops, a router, and another printer on the right side, not seen in the picture. On the left wall is a white board for presentations. |
So now we have moved From Construction To Maintenance and Operation which means that we have to hire additional staff, at the very list someone to manage the activities of the library and the media center, and someone who will work as a watchman and also tender to the site's grounds.
That is added necessary expenses.
So please help us maintain what we have work so hard to achieve
